ghusl
the washing of the whole body required after sexual intercourse or a seminal

Ghusl is undertaken to regain ritual purity.
The dead person is also given ghusl before burial. At that time, Muslims supplicate
to Allāh who is al-Ghafūr (The Forgiving), al-Ghaffār (The Forgiver)
and al-Ghāfir (The Forgiver), to forgive all the Muslims, men and women, and
especially the one who has passed away.
To do ghusl while one is in a state of ritual purity, is not wājib (a
requirement) but a Sunnah (a noble and meritorious Prophetic tradition), for
example, doing ghusl for Friday prayers
