Asking others to make Du?ā
Narrated Hadrat Ibn ?Abbās (may Allāh
be pleased with him): Prophet Muhammad (may Allāh's blessings
and peace be upon him) said, "Supplications of five persons are for ever
accepted ?
(1) of the oppressed so long he has not taken revenge;
(2) of the pilgrim till he returns home after the Hajj;
(3) of the warrior fighting in Jihād till it is concluded;
(4) of the sick patient till his recovery; and
(5) of a Muslim for a fellow Muslim in his absence." (Bayhaqī)
Sayyidinā 'Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allāh be pleased with him) reported Allāh's Messenger (may Allāh's blessings and peace be upon him) as saying, "When you visit an invalid tell him to make supplication for you, for his supplication is like that of the angels." (Ibn Mājah)
Narrated Hadrat Anas (may Allāh be pleased with him): Whenever drought threatened them, Sayyidinā 'Umar ibn Al-Khattāb (may Allāh be pleased with him) used to ask Hadrat Al-'Abbās ibn 'Abdul Muttalib (may Allāh be pleased with him) to invoke Allāh for rain. He used to say, "O Allāh! We used to ask our Prophet to invoke You for rain, and You would bless us with rain, and now we ask his uncle to invoke You for rain. O Allāh! Bless us with rain." And so it would rain. (Bukhārī)
Du?ā for good in this world and in the Hereafter
Narrated Hadrat Anas (may Allāh be pleased with him):
Prophet Muhammad (may Allāh's blessings and peace be upon him)

good and in the Hereafter that which is good and save us from the torment of
the Fire (of Hell)." (2:201) (Bukhārī)

Du?ā after Adhān
Narrated Hadrat Jābir bin 'Abdullāh (may
Allāh be pleased with him): Allāh's Messenger (may

listening to the Adhān (for the prayer) says, ?O Allāh, Lord of
this complete call and of this prayer, which is going to be established! Give
Prophet Muhammad the Intercession and the Pre-Eminence and raise him to
the Station of Praise and Glory which You have promised him,' will be
granted my intercession on the Day of Resurrection." (Bukhārī)

Narrated Sayyidinā Abū Bakr As-Siddīq (may
Allāh be pleased with him): I asked Allāh's Messenger (may
Allāh's blessings and peace be upon him) to teach me a good invocation
in the prayer. He told me to say, "Allāhumma innī
zalamtu nafsī zulman kathīran walā
yaghfiru?dh-dhunūba illā Anta faghfirlī maghfiratan min
'indika, wa?r-hamnī innaka Anta?l
Ghafūr u?r Rahīm (O Allāh! I have done great
injustice to myself and none except You forgives sins, so please forgive me and
be Merciful to me as You are the Forgiver, the Most Merciful)."
(Bukhārī)
Du?ā after Salāh
Hadrat Mu'ādh bin Jabal (may Allāh be
pleased with him) relates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may
Allāh's blessings and peace be upon him) caught his hand and said:
Mu'ādh, by Allāh, I love you and advise you that you
should not forget supplicating to Allāh after every fard
(obligatory) salāh: ?O Allāh! Help me in remembering
You, and thanking You and worshipping You in the best possible way?.

"Allāhumma innī a'ūdhu bika min 'adhābi?l Qabr, wa min 'adhābin-nār, wa min fitnati?l mahyā wa?l mamāt, wa min fitnati?l masīh i?d-dajjāl.
(O Allāh! I seek refuge with You from the punishment in the grave and from the punishment in the Hell-fire and from the afflictions of life and death, and from the afflictions of the anti-Christ)." (Bukhārī)

i?l ?Azīm
Lā ilāha Illallāhu Rabb u?s Samāwāti wa Rabb
u?l Ardi
wa Rabb u?l 'Arsh i?l-Karīm. (Bukhārī)
The meaning of this invocation is:
None has the right to be worshipped but Allāh, the All-Knowing, the
Most Forbearing.
None has the right to be worshipped but Allāh, the Lord of the
Tremendous Throne.
None has the right to be worshipped but Allāh, the Lord of the Heavens
and the Lord of the Earth and the Lord of the Honourable Throne.

Hadrat Abū Hurayra (may Allāh be pleased with him)
relates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may Allāh's blessings
and peace be upon him) said: When any one of you sneezes he should say:
?Al-Hamdu Lillāh? (All Praise be to Allāh) and his
brother or friend (who listens) should respond by saying,
"Yarhamukallāh" (may Allāh have mercy on you); and
then the person sneezing should reciprocate by saying,

SubhānakAllāhumma wa bi Hamdika
Ash-hadu an lā llāha illā Anta
Astaghfiruka wa atūbu Ilayka".
(O Allāh! You are the Most Holy and all Praise is for You.
I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except You.
I ask for Your forgiveness and turn in repentance to You.)
