Sayings of Prophet Muhammad

Neighbours

Rights of the Neighbour
Hadrat ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) has said that a person is not a true Muslim who himself eats to his fill while his neighbour remains hungry. (Bayhaqi)

Hadrat Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said: "One who believes in Allah (the Glorified and the Exalted) and the Day of Judgement must not cause hardship and inconvenience to his neighbour; and he who believes in Allah (the Glorified and the Exalted) and the Day of Judgement must respect his guest; and he who believes in Allah (the Glorified and the Exalted) and the Day of Judgement must speak well or keep quiet". (al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Hadrat 'Abdulla ibn 'Umar and Sayyidatina 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them) relate that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said: "Angel Jibril (peace be upon him) kept exhorting me about (the rights of) the neighbour so much so that I thought that the neighbour might be included as one of the heirs." (al-Bukhari and Muslim)
