Sayings of Prophet Muhammad
may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him

Sujud (Prostrations of Worship)

Sajdah in Salah
Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Prophetic Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "A servant becomes nearest to his Lord while he is in prostration (before Him). So increase supplication." (Muslim)

Sajdatu's Sahw
Narrated Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah's Prophetic Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "When anyone of you stands for the prayers, satan comes and puts him in doubts till he forgets how many Raka'at he has prayed. So if this happens to anyone of you, he should perform two prostrations of Sahw (forgetfulness) while sitting". (al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Sajdatu't Tilawa
Narrated Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): When Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) recited a Surah that contained the prostration, he would prostrate and we would do the same and some of us (because of the heavy rush) could not find a place for prostration. (al-Bukhari)

Sajdatu's Shukr
Sayyidina Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that whenever Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) met any joyous event or he was made happy over something, he used to prostrate himself before Allah in gratitude. (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi)
