TIME MAGAZINE'S HATE PROPAGANDA
AGAINST ISLAM

Time Magazine Gives Vent to Frustrations
In lashing out at Islam and at Muslims, it can be said that Time magazine is giving vent to its frustrations. The causes of these frustrations are many and varied. Some of the following immediately spring to mind.

(a) The USA has lost the economic war to Japan. This was physically demonstrated when the US President George Bush collapsed in the arms of the Japanese Emperor at a banquet in Japan. On the one hand, worship of the dollar leads to admiration for the Japanese economic "miracle". On the other hand, loss of world markets to Japan leaves the Americans with a sense of utter helplessness, despair, fatalist attitude and self-pity. For them, it is an era of bewilderment, confusion and drift.

(b) These days, the Japanese lecture the Americans about poverty, homelessness, the
usefulness of a sound education system, and about being innovative. They give them economic advice in the same way as the Americans have given advice to the rest of the world for so long. It must be pretty galling. No wonder then that according to the March 1990 Mirror Centre/Times sample survey, only 8 per cent of Americans said that Japan represented the greatest danger to the United States, but this figure jumped to 31 per cent in February 1992, as reported in The Canada Times of July 24, 1992.

(c) The USA is the greatest debtor nation on earth with a public debt of $3 trillion, more than six times the public debt of the whole of Africa (yet US "experts" come to Africa to advise Africans on how to pay off their debt).

(d) The USA has the highest crime rate, the highest jail rate and the highest divorce rate in the whole world. Its jail (incarceration) rate is higher than even that of South Africa.

(e) Peace finally prevails in Lebanon from where the Israelis have been driven out by the Muslims, and Muslims control their own affairs there. No more arms to be sold there to obtain the dollar which they worship.

(f) When Muslims of Afghanistan defeated a so-called worldly super power, the Soviet Union, and forced it to withdraw and brought communism crashing down, the West tried to bring in secularism through the back door in the form of the exiled former King Zahir Shah, but they were unsuccessful.

(g) Out of the ashes of communism, thanks to the mujahideen of Afghanistan, have been born yet again various Muslim countries that were once colonies of the "Evil Empire" (the Soviet Union) like Azerbaijan, Kyrgystan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan which have decided to join a Muslim Common Market with Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey even though the US Secretary of State visited each of these in turn to woo them.

(h) The recent riots in Los Angeles and New York which led to looting and death revealed the magnitude of the racist and iniquitous dimensions of US society. In Bright Futures or Broken Dreams, the Children's Defence Fund, a private non-profit organization describes a racial system of health care and education and suggests that the capital of US, Washington D.C. fails to live up to even the minimum acceptable standards. The infant mortality rate in Washington D.C. (23 deaths per 1000 live births) is greater than that in Jamaica (16 per 1000 live births).

One frustration after another has been piling up. How much can Time magazine bear? So it vilifies Islam and Muslims. In any case, it makes sense to target a common enemy to hide the contradictions in your own society. But, so much hate while pretending to be saints? It is unreal!

And now in the filth of their much-vaunted democracy, its Patron Saint, George Bush has been accused of womanizing. Can Muslims expect another tirade from Time magazine?
