I dreamt of al-Habib Ahmad Mashhur bin Taha Al-Haddad
Assalamu ‘alaykum
I entered the Ba Alawi tariqa in 1990, when I received the Wird al Latif and Ratib ash-Shaheer from the blessed hands of al-Habib via the Waseelat al ‘Ibaad awrad book.
Could you if possible advice me on a dream that I dreamt on Tuesday 23rd November 2004 in the early hours of the morning.
I dreamt of sitting in a majlis with Habib and other fuqara. Habib was young and extremely handsome. He enquired from the brothers present about the wellbeing of those who were absent.
During conversation Habib looked at me and advised me to recite surah Ya Sin 6 or 7 times. The dream ended at that point.
Could somebody interpret this dream for me?
Wassalaam.
Mohammed.
Wa ‘alaykum us-Salam Brother Mohammed,Aren’t you lucky you received the Wird al-Latif and Ratib ash-Shahir from the blessed hands of our shaykh, al-Habib Ahmad Mashhur bin Taha al-Haddad, Rady Allahu ‘Anhu.
I am suggesting three meanings for this dream.
Al-Habib was extremely handsome, with a majestic personality. He came in the dream as young to remind us not to forget the Hawl (Anniversary) of his grandson Sayyid Muhammad bin Mustafa Bu Numay of Kenya who passed away on the 3rd of Shawwal while still a young man. He composed two qasidas on al-Habib, compiled his talks in a book, ran a madrasa and lead tarawih prayers.
We narrated this dream to one lady. She said that she had vowed that if her daughter delivered her baby successfully, she would recite surah Yasin Seven times, but that she had forgotten about it. When she heard of this dream, she was reminded to fulfil her vow, Alhamdu Lillah.
The third interpretation is as follows. The Hawl (Anniverssary) of Imam ‘Abdallah bin ‘Alawi al-Haddad Rady Allahu ‘Anhu is on 7th Dhu’l Qa’dah. So, al-Habib has given us nasiha (advice) to recite surah Yasin 6 or 7 times. And we have plenty of time to complete this recitation before that day. And you are doubly blessed because he has imparted this advice to all of us through you. So to fulfill this duty (wazifa) is more important for you. Mabruk, InshaAllah. And he is concerned about those who are present as well as those who are absent which was his practice and his teaching through example.
This teaching is also conveyed in the following salat ala’n Nabi Sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam that Imam Shafi’i composed.
Sallallahu ‘ala Muhammad-in
kullama dhakarahudh-dhakirun
wa ghafala ‘an dhikrihi’l ghafilun.Blessings of Allah be on Sayyidina Muhammad
